The structure consists of five layers: glass substrate, transparent conductive oxide layer (TCO layer), cadmium sulfide (CdS) window layer, cadmium telluride (CdTe) absorption layer, back contact layer and back electrode.

• Good weak light performance: High absorption of the entire spectrum; works efficiently during early morning, evening, or cloudy conditions.
• Low temperature coefficient: Temperature coefficient is about -0.21~0.25%/ºC, roughly half that of crystalline silicon cells, ensuring better performance in high temperatures.
• High conversion efficiency: Theoretical efficiency reaches 28-29%. It absorbs 90% of visible light with a thickness of only 1μm.
• Low cost: Minimal raw material usage and a simplified manufacturing process make it highly competitive.
• Good power generation stability: No light-induced degradation; output remains stable even in humid climates.
